PolyBioData Limited was established by Dr Richard Carter to work with organisations and help them make the most of their next generation sequencing experiments and avoid issues with handling the large amounts of data they generate.

He has worked for three transformational next generation sequencing companies, working with petabyte scale data volumes, large scale sequencing projects dealing with human, animal and plant genomics. Among many acheivements in his illustrious career he designed the prototype Illumina human genome analysis platform and played a key role in implementing real time data analysis for Oxford Nanopore sequencing. He has a demonstrable track record in delivering pragmatic customer solutions. He has extensive experience in:

• Planning sequencing experiments
• Ensuring optimal data strategies for efficient compute, storage and transfer
• Data cataloguing including Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Bioinformatics including data analysis and QC and the need for automation

He has experience with cloud providers including AWS and worked on a range of custom solutions. From building bespoke systems in the cloud through to integration with their purpose built services such as AWS Healthomics or Google Genomics.

He has designed inhouse LIMS to track Covid experiments and worked with commercial LIMS providers tracking experiemts from end to end, incorporating dry lab as well as wet lab components.
